According to Professor Brandon Garrett’s book “Convicting the Innocent”, more than half of the first 250 DNA exonerations were cases that included “invalid, unreliable, concealed, or erroneous forensic evidence.” In these cases forensic tests had been conducted on the evidence and had lead police to an innocent person.
